1.) Describe how Samuel changes over the course of his adventure. What is the cause of this change? Would you say this change in Samuel is a positive or negative change?

2.) Gary Paulsen created a story surrounding a major event in American history. How does Paulsen create suspense in his narrative? How does he incorporate historical events to create this suspense?

3.) How does Paulsen portray the British troops? Are they always bad?
